About Our Dogs

Black Warrior Ranch is based in Alabama. We have had the pleasure of having Berners in our lives since 2018. We plan to breed the best animals we can, educate their owners and ensure these lovely creatures get the love, care, and attention they deserve. We are focused on making the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible. Parents are health tested. All puppies will have a well check and receive UTD vaccinations from our vet. They will be tested and dewormed as appropriate.

Training, Enrichment, and Socialization

TRAINING

Our puppies leave for their new homes having been litter box trained and beginning doggie door trained.

They also receive crate training. They will have access to open crates for play, rest or to enjoy treats. We want our puppies to be able to use a crate, if desired, for the transition phase to your families routine as well as any needs in the future. They will also have been exposed to walking on a leash.

ENRICHMENT

Puppies will be exposed to various sounds, surfaces, toys and textures as they grow. They have a dedicated room in our home where we set up age appropriate enrichment in the first few weeks. They have other spaces at our home, both inside and out, for bigger enrichment toys including difference surfaces, tunnels, things to climb over, etc,.

If weather allows we like to get them out in the fresh air in their dedicated space. Our plan is to have our puppies raised on BAB puppy curriculum. We incorporate some now but will announce when we incorporate all of it.

SOCIALIZATION

I start sleeping in our puppy room with our Dam at least a week before she is due to make sure she is comfortable. It also lets her get some extra pampering time with me.  Our girl is an incredible Mom and it has been a great experience for her and I to share. I sleep in that room for the duration of the weeks the puppies are with us. Their lives and development is precious to us.  We don’t breed often but when we do they get our full attention. Our children vary in age and are all a part of puppies development.  They spend quiet time as well as playtime and help care for them as they grow. As puppies develop they are exposed to other friends visiting for variety.  They are also socialized with our other adult dogs.

Going home

A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME WITHOUT A DOG...

Puppies will leave with their vet records, AKC registration, Microchip, and Puppy Travel Bag, which contains a bag of food that they have been eating and an item that smells like their littermates, as well as various other toys.
